ABOUT US
Medical Students Association knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in October 2020, the co-founders of MSA, Sashank Batchu and Bhuvi Kedia, two high-schoolers from the California Bay Area — realizing the disparity in the living conditions of hospitalized patients — strived to make a difference in their lives especially as they were unable to spend time with their loved ones nor pursue their interests due to the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic. Ever since then, we have taken notable strides to address our mission through various initiatives, predominantly our Be a Buddy program.

A majority of the patients we assist suffer from a wide range of cognitive, respiratory, and neurodegenerative diseases; Alzheimer's and dementia are a few to name. With several of them being completely bed-ridden and non-verbal, it is even more pivotal to take a stance and provide them with the affection and attention that they deserve — which is precisely what we aspire to do.

Along with this, we also aid future medical professionals through our volunteer opportunities and resources to expand their passion and knowledge in medicine.
